The Agreement on Trade in Civil Aircraft is one of two plurilateral agreements (with the Agreement on Government Procurement being the second) signed by a smaller number of WTO members.

It eliminates import duties on all aircraft, other than military aircraft. The Agreement sought to introduce a measure of discipline over government influence on trade in the civil aircraft sector. This process was initiated by the United States government, when President Carter proposed the idea of a multilateral trade accord in civil aircraft to his G7 counterparts in Bonn in Author: Steven McGuire.
